Kids or no Kids – the BIG Question for Wedding Planning…

the usual suspects - kids at weddings can be such a joy and add such a different dynamic to the day

This season I have been priveleged to photograph a good handful of weddings where kids were a big part of the day.  These days kids at weddings seem to be a rarity and to a degree I can understand why.  But when we think about it, as much a celebration of love and covenant the wedding day is, it is also a gathering of family and friends sharing in the joy of life and relationships shared.  Watching the kids run around having a great time, hearing their laughter and enjoying the innocence that comes with youth I quickly appreciated how big a dynamic they add to the day.

However, all this mushy “ooh aah, cute” atmosphere does not nullify the complexities of having kids running around sticking their fingers in the wedding cake while mom and dad kick back and relax.  So just how do you as a bride go about finding a balance?  Catherine Hall – Destination wedding photographer Catherine Hall got some advice from event planner Stephanie Anderson regarding the matter.  You can read the useful tips on Catherine’s blog.
